Weekend Wear and Vacation Time!

Ladies, I am so excited...I have this entire week off of work! Yay! Plus, a bunch of people (like 25 - 30) from my mom's side of the family are getting together for Thanksgiving! It's gonna be chaotic, but alot of fun! Anyhoo, it's still warm down here, so I threw on a comfy dress this weekend to run some errands. Nothing spectacular, but it works for me. :)

Floral and Grey Make My Day

I've been looking for a grey boyfriend cardi for awhile now. Yesterday morning, I even tweeted about it. Yesterday at lunch, I stopped by Ann Taylor to see if I could take advantage of the 30% off Friends & Family coupon I had. I wasn't really looking for anything particular. I tried on a few things, but nothing that screamed "pick me, pick me, take ME home with you!" (what, clothes don't talk to you?). As I was about to leave, I spotted a table of cardis. I started looking through them half-heartedly when lo and behold, I found this baby. I was so thrilled, I took it home and immediately washed it so I could wear it today. So this outfit was built around my new grey cardi. :)


Look how foggy it was this morning...made for a kinda cool backdrop.


And to make it even better, this grey belt that I found thrifting awhile back matches the cardi perfectly. Ah serendipity!

Dear Winter, Where Are You?

Well, the error I was receiving yesterday seems to have gone away, so on to today (thanks for the suggestions Sher, Mary and Kari!).

In case you can't tell, it's still pretty warm here in FL...meaning temps in the high 70's/low 80's (which is unseasonably warm for this time of year, even for FL. We usually get temps in the low 70's or maybe even the high 60's, if we're lucky, this time of year...though I do remember a few Thanksgivings and Christmas' spent in shorts, but I digress). I know, I know, poor me. The only reason I complain is that I want to wear my boots and scarfs and comfy, cozy sweaters without sweating or people giving me weird looks while they walk around in still wearing shorts. Oh well, maybe in December. Or January. Or next winter.

Anyhoo, on to today's outfit. Nothing outrageous or crazy. Just black, white and a pop of red.


I normally don't wear a longer necklace with a collared shirt. I always felt like it looked odd or wrong on me. But then I see it on other people and it looks great. So I decided to give it another try with this necklace that I made. You might not be able to see it very well, but the flower in this necklace is actually an old earring from the collection of stuff my mom gave me that used to belong to my step-grandma (making the necklace extra special to me). If I remember, I'll include a close up shot in a future post.

Ever Seen This Error When Uploading Pics to Blogger?

I'm trying to upload my pics for today's post and keep getting the following error message...

"This image could not be uploaded due to an internal error."

Any ideas or suggestions?

Saved...from the thrifting pile...

Sorry for the lack of posts...things have been CUH-RAZY lately and I haven't had much time to think straight, much less take pics and post them. Sorry excuse, I know, but what can I do? And things are only gonna get more nutty. Between now and Christmas, I have to attend/plan/help with the following:

• a birthday celebration for my BFF's hubby
• a baby shower for my cousin
• a graduation celebration for another cousin
• my sis-in-law's b-day
• my mom's b-day
• a couple's wedding shower
• and somehow my friend talked me into hosting a Premier jewelry party
• plus I can't forget my BF's b-day
• oh and Thanksgiving...with 30 relatives from my mom's side of the fam
• OH, plus the BF wants to try and go to the FL/FSU game the weekend of Thanksgiving

All this, plus keep up with all the chaos at work. Ok, now I'm fully panicked and breathing into a paper bag...ok, better now.

You can't really see them, but the white cami under the cardi has pretty ruffles going down the front. Very fem. And the cardi was saved from my "take to Goodwill/consignment store" pile. I haven't worn it in forever, so I decided to get rid of it. But then I saw it again this weekend and changed my mind. :)
